There is just something about those easy to find, slow moving, squishy little worms that is irresistible to kids. I was watching Nick and Natalie one day and their outdoor adventure turned into a full on worm-hunt. They were quite successful.
Another day we were cooped up after a rainy few days and when the drips finally passed I sent Vivie and Pip out to find me 5 acorns. They do so much better with a task. They reported back that there were no acorn trees in our woods AT ALL. So I put Meg in the stroller and we went on a search. Bridget came too. It was such a fun walk. Soon we found an acorn goldmine and identifyied which leaves were Oak leaves and that they signaled acorns would be near. I LOVE being out in nature with the kids.
