Kutztown Folk Festival

We drove to PA this weekend for the 4th of July.  It was a wonderful trip, full of lots of activities.  Pip and Viv foresaw late nights of fireworks were coming so they wisely fell asleep mearly immediately upon departure:

Our first day there we decided to hit the Kutztown Folk Festival.  I can't believe it, but it's true ... I had never been before.  It was a lot of fun to see all the Pennsylvania Dutch wares, foods, music, and dancing.  I could have stayed and meandered for several days I think, but instead I was focused on Meg who was quite hot.  Very hot actually.  It was a steamer of a day so we flitted from shady tent to shady tree -- not really exploring as much as I would have liked.  I think all in all we only saw a portion of the fair before we were all exhausted.  Even then, we did SO MUCH!

Here are Pip and Viv riding some oil drums (cars) driven by a tractor!

This and the swings and bouncey house cost us about $27 (yikes!):

Suzy looks cute as a bug in her stroller!

Vivie found her favorite in the petting area.  Wowie!

We even got to feed the animals:

I couldn't resist letting them ride the pony.  It was $5 a ride but I figured when else would they get the chance?  Umm, read on a few days and you'll see how wrong I was!  Still, this mini horse broke them in a bit and probably upped their brave points for what was to come.

Getting tired:

Hay Bale!!

This was minutes after a massive tantrum by Vivie because she didn't get to ride the real horse drawn carousel.  We found a music tent on the way out that way playing such happy stuff you couldn't help but stop crying and start moving!

A video too!
