Today may be Vivie's first official sick day. It's hard to argue when they have to send the teacher home to change clothes because Vivian threw up SO MUCH all over her. So when I got the call at 3 I rushed in and got my sweetie pie. She did seem a bit cranky, but after gulping down 4 ounces at home she relaxed a bit and had a pretty normal evening. Phil will be home with her tomorrow as she can't return after such a display.
Pip has been just all over the place since returning home from Thanksgiving. He's very excited about his ability to communicate so much better verbally, but just as determined for independence and scared by all it entails. Lately he's had trouble at dropoffs at school and when I leave him. He just wants to be all over Phil and I. Tonight we had a very sweet bedtime. Disaster was averted as I let the fact that he kicked me 3 times slide with a heartfelt apology and read him his book anyway. He selected a picture book and had a great time pointing at each picture and telling me what it was. The only things that stumped him were the kite and the guinea pig, which I guess we never really noticed before. Colors are still hard and I'm getting to wonder if he's playing with me! Cause sometimes he goes them (brown and black are easy, all the others are tough). Anyway, then we laid in bed and he cuddled up to me (he likes to lay right against the side rail) and played with my hair as I sang several renditions of ABCD, Baa Baa Black Sheep, and Twinkle Twinkle. He was ready when I left and fell right to sleep.
