Day 4, Dad's Day

Day 4 was Dad's day, the Mom's trekked into Boston for facials, massages, mani/pedis, brunch, wine, and shopping.  Perfection.

We left the kids with the Dads.  They played mini golf and then came back to our place.  I have no evidence of the mini golf.  I do have some evidence as to why all the clothes in my closet were on the floor when I came home:

And there was a monster in the house:

While this all seems fun, there was a lowpoint which was not easily forgotten.  Some extremely boorish behavior at Papa Gino's by Pip and Chase cost all the kids ice cream.  Sad indeed.  Pip decided to express his emotions artistically.
Yes, that is Dad in the crosshairs.

Beirut

Day 3 continued ... beirut tourney in the hot tub room.  We still have it!

And everyone knows any good pong game requires a bit of good-natured, slightly but not seriously perilous, side action.  I offer the pencil fall.  Demonstrated nicely by Matt and Phil.   This clip also features a classic Jon quote:  "Give me a 30 foot cliff I'll dive off it but I'm not jumping into a hot tub with no protection."

Day 3, Boston

Day 3 looked like rain so rather than hit the beach we decided to head into Boston.  It turned out to be a good idea.  It alternated between sweltering humidity and torrential downpours.  We luckily timed the Duck Boats during the humid part!

Elin thinks this is serious business.

Pip and Viv are quacking about!

An almost family photo.

And a full-fledged one!

Next we met up with the Stones and Cantins at the Children's Museum.  It was PACKED.  I say PACKED.  Luckily the feeling of sardines does not hamper our kids in the least.  Pip and Viv stayed in the bubble room for what seemed like hours.  Viv made friends with a Spanish exchange student who taught her all sorts of bubble tricks.

Pip demonstrates in Peep's World what it would be like if it was Pip's World.  Probably rather dangerous.

Despite the fact that the "pirate ship", as Pip calls it, was overrun with children to the point of being unequivocally a saftey hazzard, Pip could not get enough.  Trampled?  Pushed?  Shoved?  All part of the fun.  Here he is enjoying the view from the top, where apparently not all the rest of the kids made it!

And scaling the wall in the Wizard of Oz!

Pip was beginning to grow fond by Day 3 of his new live-in friend, Cade.  Here's a drawing he made one morning!

Day 2, BBQ at Rob and Tasha's

Day 2 of Staycation was a BBQ at Rob and Tasha's.  Meg decided to do some stretches to prepare herself in advance.

Cade and Pip amused themselves with a couple of remote control cars.  Cade though maybe 'Hip' had magical mini car robots living at his house!!!

Here she is resting with Dad after her work out.

It rained most of the day, so the kids watched lots of videos .. when they weren't running, that is.

Even Elin!

After the best cheeseburger I have EVER had, we raided the candy pantry.  Pip, in my "blanket sweater" can't decide which he is having.

Staycation, Day 1!

This year our dinner club decided to have a Staycation in Boston.  The Stone's drove up to stay with us and every day was filled with fun events in and around Boston.  It was really awesome to have all of us together, especially seeing how our kids have changed since Duck last year.  Three of them weren't even with us then!!!

Here is Day 1, BBQ at our house.

Connor can crawl already!

Viv, Pip, Cade, Aislinn, and Chase are all smiles (well, mostly!)

Matt and Rob chill while Elin has some dinner.

Are those biceps for real???

Whoever thought you could sleep in a hot tub?  I think the girls were pretending Pip was a baby and trying to get him to take a nap!

Red Sox!

Katie got tickets through the Lehigh Club of Boston and we were off to our first game since Pip was 4 weeks old!!  Can't believe it took that long to get back to Fenway.  It was a great night complete with beer, hot dogs, peanuts, and candy.  Sox lost, but that really isn't the point, is it?

Poop Castle

Pip was supposed to be heading outside to play in the water table.  Somehow he got sidetracked.  Soon Vivie and he were completely immersed in a castle building effort.  Connor and Bridget stopped by and told them they weren't impressed (Pip and Viv had 3 bar stools with a blanket over them) and soon this is what we had:

Apparently it's a Poop Castle.  Smells fine to me.
