Peeing on the potty

Not getting my hopes up, I know we are a long way from real potty training.  But Meg was excited at the prospect of trying one day and actually peed on the potty.  She did it one other time.  Since then, she just uses it as a excuse to get all her clothes off, and then pees on the floor when we aren't looking.

Frog Pond

Work has been getting increasingly frantic for me as we get into the heart of the Tecfidera launch.  I had to work the entire day before, missing out on everything and leaving Phil with the kids all day.  So Sunday felt like Saturday and we were all out of sorts.  Tried to hit the Worcester Ecotarium only to find they wouldn't open for hours.  So we took advantage of our Audubon membership and found some trails.

The highlight was this frog pond.  There we actually at least 5 big and small frogs hiding out in there!  Vivie found the first and then, once we knew we were looking for little eyes bugging out of the top like crocodiles, we found some more!

Megan, the Lorax

Joined the Mass Audubon and have enjoyed several fun hikes as a result.  This was our first time at the Ipswich River sanctuary.  They have a little kids play are and Megan saw what the Lorax must feel like!

Then off for some hiking.  Pip and Vivie were strong, as always.  Meggie forced me to carry her the entire time.  Ugh!  Check out this tree!!

At the Zoo on a sad day for Boston

As this was happening horrible things were unfolding at the Boston Marathon.  We were unaware, though, having a great time at the Stone Zoo.  This jaguar was amazing.

The secret path

Megan was brave enough to take the secret path from school to the car with Pip and Vivie!

Rainbow dancer

Vivie's recital song this year is Rainbow Chorus line.  Today she got her dress and tried it on during class.  They ran a practice for the parents.  I can't wait for the real thing!!

The artist

Pip is an amazing artist.  When he focuses he takes such great pains to make beautiful work.  One of his pieces was selected to be on display at the high school so we went to check it out!

Megan's tube surgery

Went off without a hitch.  The local hospital was much less sterile-feeling and we were peaceful and comfortable until the last minute when she went under.  Recovery was quick but she was hungry!!  We came home for juice and a muffin!  Yum!  Then she, like Pip, went off to school and had a great day.

It's rather anecdotal, but I do feel her language is progress much more quickly after the surgery, and hopefully the improved hearing has something to do with it.

Not sure why or if this was even a pout.  She might have accidentally taken it of herself...

Trick Words

Pip is learning to read and it is amazing.  Some of the words he tackles blow my mind.  But these pesky trick words don't follow the rules and can still give him pause.  Part of first grade is memorizing how to pronounce them and spell them.  Here's some at home practice!  

Puzzles

Megan LOVES puzzles.  Can't get enough.  She likes the big jigsaw ones and the wooden insert ones.  She needs a decent amount of help to select the correct piece, but she has some skills at putting it together and is improving fast.

Vivie will sometimes help her and there are flashes of sisterly love and fun emerging!

Broke these out again.  Feels like Megan is just able to have fun with them too.  Loads of fun for a few days!!

Happy Birthday Megan!

My little Megan is 2 years old!!!  I scrambled to make cupcakes for her, as the day was busy as ever.  We made her Froggies, one of her favorites!

After cupcakes, we measured her inside the closet door!  So big!!
