Dogsitting

We have a very part-time love of a dog named Grady.  Whenever my friend Jess goes away and we're home, we've offered to sit for him.  He's very easy and well trained and perfect for us!

Museum of Science

I've deicded the best time to hit the Museum of Science is after school on a Monday.  You may only get 2 hours in, but no one else is there!

The hard way to sled

Dad must've pulled these nuggets out there for at least half an hour straight while I made dinner one night.

Pip gave it a try and soon learned just how hard it was!

Man down!

My girls

Cuddle time with my girls.  Vivie is an excellent cuddler and always in tune with who needs a hug.  If you ask Meg for a cuddle she knows what it means now and will come over and touch her head to yours and go "ahhhh"

The Meadowmere

We took a two night mini-vacation to Oqunquit, Maine the weekend before February vacation week.  It was a blast because 4 other Wood End families coordinated to go together and the kids had the run of the place. There was a movie theater, a Roman Spa, a heater pool, and an arcade.  Lots of fun!

Vivie checking out the bed just after we arrived.

Meg, Pip, and I ran out for donuts the first morning so as not to wake the sleepers.

Pip and Bridget running the halls in their jammies.

Not sure why Meggie climbed in, but there were lots of antics to be had!

Sunday night we went out for dinner!

The kids played the longest lasting game of pool in history.  Turns out it is hard to get those balls in!

Swim suit, floatie, unknown finger goop, and Mom's boots.  Let's hit the runway.

Frog socks

The frog socks from Grammy Bressler and the cute cards for Suzy were favorites!

Valentines

The finished Valentines product!  We love you!

This year I had plans for Vivie and Pip but neither of them liked my ideas.  I thought we could go with Pip's bucket filler theme and have him holding a bucket overflowing with hearts that said "You fill my bucket".  I was going to glue googlie eyes on Vivie's picture and have it say "I only have eyes for you".

But they were all about collages of their own design.  Pip made the awesome heart necklace and hat.  Vivie cut out a heart (which said I love you in tiny writing) and they both posed for lots of shots.

I have to say, didn't mind scratching my idea.

Hitting the Dad up for hot chocolate

Watch them play him like a fiddle.  Does it count if your answer was going to be yes all along?

The Wood End Mountain

The huge mountain of snow deposited atop the hill at Wood End was as frightening as it looked.  I could not believe Pip was even considering attempting it. There were other smaller paths down, but Pip did not seem to consider them options.

This sledding adventure was had during "Boy Time" ... aka Tuesday afternoon when Dad has pickup duties and there are about 2 hours before they need to get the girls.  Pip always has a nice big smile when he realizes it's Monday night and tomorrow Dad will be picking him up.

Ropes and pulleys

I think the hope was to catch six mice mid-air as they pulled it up the stairwell from above.  Didn't quite work as planned.

Sick Meg

Poor thing.  Feverish and tired.  Nothing better than Daddy.

Snow walk

That first expedition into the neighborhood after a big storm makes it all worthwhile in my book.  The roads are still white as are the trees.  It's a calm eerie quite and these never seems to be any wind.  This was a good one complete with narrow paths just wide enough for the sled and a strong Dad.
